Daniel Paschall
Drum / Vocals
Atlanta, GA

Daniel Paschall was born and raised in Exmore, Virginia. During the first few years of his childhood, he had already mapped out his career choices. He either wanted to join the Ghostbusters or he wanted to be Batman. Once he found out that the former organization didn't exist in real life, and the latter could possibly get him killed or put away in the looney bin, he gravitated towards music instead.

His first musical infatuations consisted of Ray Charles and Little Richard (both of those thanks in part to Sesame Street), Danny Elfman (especially "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack), the Carl Stalling music for all the Bugs Bunny cartoons, and Pink Floyd's "The Wall".

By age 11, his dad got him his first drumset. It was around that time Daniel started latching onto the "evils" of rock music, cutting his teeth playing along to Soundgarden, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Police and later on the likes of Tool, Pantera, Slayer, King Crimson, and Mr. Bungle. Around 14-15, his dad "The Amazing Firpo" hipped him to James Brown and old school soul and blues music, instilling in him the importance of the shuffle and the groove (and also made sure that he "PLAY A GODDAMNED REGGAE BEAT RIGHT!!!"), while his insane-yet-lovabale Uncle Michael took him to Amsterdam (twice!!) to the North Sea Jazz Fest. exposing him to (other than the Red Light District) the likes of Elvin Jones, Max Roach, Herbie Hancock and many other cats that reach far back in the jazz world.

By age 17, Danny (as he was known by this time) started working weekends with two bands, playing in bars and getting paid for it, and more and more girls started talking to him. 2 years later he relocated to Atlanta, GA. to attend the Atlanta Institute Of Music. He graduated a year later, and has been prominent around Atlanta's music scene ever since then.

Danny's strong work ethic, passion for music, and off-kilter personality has landed him gigs with various notables around town and elsewhere including (but not limited to), Alabama-based southern rock outfit Highly Kind, the Elliot Holden trio featuring Keith Jenkins--musical director and guitarist of James Brown ('95-'06), Ike Stubblefield, Ted Pecchio of the Susan Tedeschi Band, and his now defunct original band, NoJaboinga.

He currently teaches drums/percussion at Music Matters in Suwanee, GA. 3 days a week. His longest running gig in Atlanta is playing at the Georgia Renaissance Festival where you'll see him doing two things: 1) Standing in a tower during the Joust show--wearing goofy garb and all!!-- banging the hell out of tympani drums, providing "death music" to enhance the scenery down below, 2) and in most recent years, plays with Gypsy band Caravan of Fools under the moniker "MULE". Russian gypsy.

Many frat gigs, restaurant gigs, weddings and one really bad gig in Ohio later (ask him about it!!!), he's still alive to tell the tale.
